 Leave your ego,

Play the music,

LOVE the people

I first met Luther on the URBC Mediterranean Cruise in 1996.
What struck me from the first song he played was the energy he put into every performance he gave. Although Luther was a gifted singer and guitar player, it was this energy and the love he felt for his fans that made him truly one of the greatest performers I have ever seen.
He always found time to speak to the fans who loved him so much. He would remember many of them by name.

He loved playing so much that many club owners were forced to turn up the house lights to get him to stop.
Luther loved to play the BLUES!
Luther Allison was a professional musician for all of his adult life. He brought joy and love to thousands of people for many years.
Yet he, like many other performers, died with no Health Insurance to help his family pay the medical expenses he acquired.
Because of this the Luther Allison Endowment Fund was begun. This fund will help other blues performers in times of need.
